in spatial data, which can be characterized by an autocorrelogram, semivariogram or spectrum. We illustrate the utility of temporal autocorrelation functions (ACFs) for analysing step-length data from GPS telemetry of wolves (Canis lupus), cougars (Puma concolor), grizzly bears (Ursus arctos) and elk (Cervus elaphus) in western Alberta. ACFs often differ by season, reflecting differences in foraging behaviour. In wilderness landscapes, step-length ACFs for predators decay slowly to apparently random patterns, but sometimes display strong daily rhythms in areas of human disturbance. In contrast, step lengths of elk are consistently periodic, reflecting crepuscular activity.”
“We report the investigation of new organic

complexes containing a magnetic moment (Gd-based molecular nanomagnets), which can serve the double purpose of acting Emricasan mw as boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) agents, and at the same time act as QNZ cost contrast agents to detect the molecule in the tissue by a proton magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We also explore the possibility of monitoring the concentration of the BNCT agent directly via proton and boron NMR relaxation. The absorption of 10 B-enriched molecules inside tumoral liver tissues has been shown by NMR measurements and confirmed by a spectroscopy. A new molecular Gd-tagged nanomagnet and BNCT agent (GdBPA) has been synthesized and characterized measuring its relaxivity R-1 between 10 kHz and 66 MHz, and its use as a contrast agent in MRI has been demonstrated. The NMR-based evidence of the absorption of GdBPA into living tumoral cells is also shown. (C) 2011 American Institute of Physics. [doi: 10.1063/1.3556951]“
“Poly(ether ether ketone)s and poly(ether ether ketone ketone) s containing pendant pentadecyl chains were synthesized by polycondensation of each of the two bisphenol monomers viz, 1,1,1-[bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4'-pentadecylphenyl] ethane and 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-pentadecyl cyclohexane with activated aromatic dihalides namely, 4,4′-difluorobenzophenone, and 1,3-bis(4-fluorobenzoyl)

benzene in a solvent mixture AMN-107 price of N,N-dimethylacetamide and toluene, in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate. Polymers were isolated as white fibrous materials with inherent viscosities and number average molecular weights in the range 0.70-1.27 dL g(-1) and 76,620-1,36,720, respectively. Poly(ether ether ketone) s and poly(ether ether ketone ketone) s were found to be soluble at room temperature in organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, and pyridine and could be cast into tough, transparent, and flexible films from their solutions in chloroform. Wide angle X-ray diffraction patterns exhibited a broad halo at around 2 theta = similar to 19 degrees indicating that the polymers containing pentadecyl chains were amorphous in nature.
